Reporting to the Flight Attendant Manager, the Assistant Flight Attendant Manager is responsible for ensuring the professional standards of the cabin crews, which include: managing, leading, coaching and development of flight attendants, as well as any other duties assigned by the Flight Attendant Manager. In addition, help facilitate the delivery of training programs in accordance with regulatory requirements. In the absence of the Flight Attendant Manager, provide supervision and daily management to ensure operational integrity and to resolve issues that may arise on a day-to-day basis.

Assume all responsibilities of the Flight Attendant Manager, in his/her absence
Responsible for the professional standards of the cabin crews under his/her authority and in particular demonstrate safety procedures and ensure that the highest level of safety standards is exhibited onboard the aircraft
Learn the working contents of the Flight Attendant Manual, [Company]’s Company Operations Manual, Air Operator Certificate and Operating Specifications as necessary for the performance of the assigned duties
Assist with providing Flight Attendant Training in accordance with the approved training program
Support OTP by resolving operational issues effectively
Assist with developing/amending Flight Attendant Training Manual (FATM) initial and annual programs
Responsible for ordering commissary for each base
Responsible for Inflight Supplies (IFS) screening
Responsible for SMS actions assigned to them
Support Flight Attendance Manager where necessary or instructed
Responsible for performance management of flight attendants
Promote a strong safety culture among flight attendants
Assist in maintaining training records and ensure that employees remain qualified
Action and distribute accident, incident and other occurrence reports
Process and action any cabin crew reports
Supervise flight attendants
Act as a flight attendant when operationally required
Assist and step in for department as required
Perform additional duties as assigned
Grade 12 diploma
Demonstrate knowledge to the company with respect to the content of the Canadian Aviation Regulations/Standards, Aeronautics Act, Company Operations Manual, Air Operating Certificate/Operating Specifications
One year experience as a Perimeter Flight Attendant, or successfully qualify as a Perimeter Flight Attendant and possess a minimum of one year experience as a flight attendant
Two years of previous supervisory/management experience
Two years of previous instructing experience
Previous union experience
Strong compliance history (Standard Operating Procedures – SOP)
Previous experience with Aviation Management Software considered an asset
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations (e.g. RAIC)
Must hold a current valid passport
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Perform administrative office duties as needed in support of operational requirements
Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
Able to work a flexible schedule and to travel for extended periods
Able to attend and conduct presentations
Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
