Location: John Wayne Airport (KSNA), Orange County, California
Aircraft: Gulfstream G650 / G650ER
Operation: Part 91, family-owned and operated
Employment: Full-time
We are a private, family-owned and operated flight department seeking an experienced, professional, and discreet pilot to operate our Gulfstream G650 under Part 91. This is a long-term position supporting domestic and international travel for a single ownership group. You'll be joining a small, tight-knit operation where professionalism, safety, and a service mindset matter as much as stick-and-rudder skill.
We're open to either seat. We're looking for either a seasoned Captain (PIC) or a strong First Officer (SIC) — and we'll consider the right person regardless of which seat they're targeting. We prefer pilots who are current and G650-typed, but we are willing to sponsor a type rating for an exceptional candidate with the right background and the right fit.
We will only consider candidates that live locally or are willing to move to Southern California permanently. We will not consider any commuters.
Operate the G650 safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with FAR Part 91
Conduct thorough flight planning, including international, oceanic, and long-range operations
Coordinate trip logistics — scheduling, catering, ground handling, customs, international permits, and overflight requirements
Help track aircraft maintenance status in coordination with maintenance providers and any management company
Maintain currency, training, certificates, and records
Work collaboratively as part of a two-pilot crew with a strong CRM culture
Deliver a high level of discretion, confidentiality, and white-glove service to the family and their guests
Keep the aircraft clean, stocked, and trip-ready between flights
All candidates:
FAA First-Class Medical
Valid passport with the ability to travel internationally without restriction
Excellent judgment, professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal skills
Flexibility with scheduling, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and last-minute trips
Clean driving and background record; able to pass background check and drug/alcohol screening
Experience operating into performance-limited and noise-sensitive airports a plus (KSNA-based ops included)
Captain (PIC):
FAA ATP certificate
Strong international, oceanic, and long-range operating experience
5,000+ hours total time, 3,000+ PIC, 1,500+ turbine PIC (guideline, not absolute)
G650 / large-cabin Gulfstream type and recency strongly preferred
First Officer (SIC):
FAA Commercial certificate, multi-engine and instrument (ATP preferred)
Turbine and/or large-cabin experience preferred
1,500+ hours total time (guideline, not absolute)
G650 type a plus; type rating sponsorship available for the right candidate
