The Alaska Aviation Director is responsible for the overall management, administration, and efficient operation of Alaska Aviation, which provides scheduled operations and support to [Company]. This role involved leading a team of employees, managing a significant operating budget, ensuring compliance with aviation regulations, presentation and analysis of financial information, and developing strategic plans to support business goals.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead the Alaska Aviation organization, including staff and contractors
Develop, implement, and administer operations and safety policies for Alaska flight operations
Manage operating budget for Alaska Aviation
Direct flight operations, maintenance, and aviation support organizations in compliance with FAA standards
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Develop and maintain contractor/vendor relationships and ensure compliance with agreements
Supports [Company]'s mission
Adheres to the company's core values
Adheres to the established work schedule and attendance standards
Collaborate with all AK business units to develop plans supporting strategic goals
Meet operational requirements
Qualifications:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, asset teams, and officials
Previous experience with operations forecasting budgets
Aviation background
Excellent communication, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated relationship management skills and leadership of cross-functional teams
Financial acumen and strategic planning skills
Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Aviation Management, Business, Engineering or equivalent
