Position: Chief Pilot

Reports to: Director of Operations
POSITION SUMMARY
The Chief Pilot is responsible for the leadership, oversight, and daily management of all Pilots and Cabin Attendants within the [Company] operation. Reporting directly to the Director of Operations, this role ensures operational excellence, safety compliance, and superior crew performance in line with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Chief Pilot will serve as a key leader in shaping [Company]’s flight operations culture, focusing on training, accountability, and customer experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee the scheduling, training, performance, and conduct of all company Pilots and Cabin Attendants.
Ensure all flight crew members comply with FAA regulations, company policies, and safety standards.
Collaborate with the Director of Operations and Safety Manager to maintain ARG/US, Wyvern, and other applicable certifications.
Implement and manage training programs, check rides, proficiency checks, and performance evaluations.
Maintain operational readiness by ensuring all crews are current on required certifications, hours, and training.
Participate in crew hiring, onboarding, and disciplinary processes.
Act as a liaison between flight crew and upper management to facilitate communication and resolve concerns.
Monitor and evaluate pilot and cabin crew schedules to ensure adequate staffing, regulatory compliance, and optimized crew utilization.
Represent [Company] in audits, regulatory inspections, and industry meetings as required.
Support the company's customer service and brand goals by promoting a culture of professionalism, respect, and safety across all crews.
QUALIFICATIONS
FAA ATP Certificate required.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Pilot in Command (PIC) in Part 135 or Part 91 operations.
Previous leadership or management experience within a flight department.
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, operational control systems, and crew resource management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to lead teams with integrity, accountability, and a safety-first mindset.
Ability to work flexible hours, travel as needed, and handle a dynamic work environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Gulfstream or similar heavy jet experience.
Experience in a rapidly scaling or entrepreneurial aviation organization.
Familiarity with SMS (Safety Management Systems) and ARG/US/Wyvern requirements.
