Position Information
Do you have a passion for flight? Would you like to opportunity to provide flight services to state officials and employees to support the people of Texas across the state? The Aviation division has an opening for a Pilot I, II or III position to serve the great state of Texas, flying our fleet of 4 Phenom 100's, 1 Cessna 206 and 1 Cessna 182. We are a PART 91 on call flight program and will fly weekends and holidays as needed.

Aircraft Pilot I
Salary Grade B24 - $65,104 - $106,634
Performs complex aviation-related work. Work involves planning and coordinating aeronautical operations, operating fixed-wing land-based aircraft including the Embraer Phenom 100EV, and providing air transport services for passengers and/or cargo. Work requires extensive travel. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
Aircraft Pilot II
Salary Grade B26 - $76,530 - $129,430
Performs senior level and highly complex aviation-related work. Primary responsibility includes piloting fixed wing aircraft to include the Embraer Phenom 100EV and providing transport service for passengers and cargo. Work also involves planning and coordinating aeronautical operations. Work requires extensive travel. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
Aircraft Pilot III
Salary Grade B28 - $92,600 - $156,612
Performs senior level and highly complex aviation-related work. Primary responsibility includes piloting fixed wing aircraft to include the Embraer Phenom 100EV and providing transport service for passengers and cargo. Work also involves planning and coordinating aeronautical operations. Work requires extensive travel. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
May serve as a Lead Worker and may perform duties of chief pilot.
Essential Duties:

Aircraft Pilot I and II
As required, assists with emergency situations/conditions by airlifting equipment, supplies and people.
Assists in training others.
Compiles and prepares necessary reports.
Coordinates and schedules flight plans with applicable flight service staff.
Inspects condition of aircraft and maintains records pertaining to operation of aircraft.
Maintains flying proficiency and knowledge; keeps abreast of current aviation and applicable aircraft developments to include industry guidelines and standards and applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
May serve as a lead worker and the related tasks.
Operates radio equipment aboard airplane.
Operates single- and multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft to transport passengers and designated goods.
Reads applicable advisory notices, obtains weather data and interprets/applies data based on flight plan, as required adjusts schedules and routes.
Responsible for and ensures safe operation of aircraft and safety of passengers, crew and support staff; as required, administers first aid to others.
Serves as Pilot-in-Command.
May perform other duties such as: flight operations, maintenance management, aviation safety, pilot training and drone operations.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned for the Flight Department.
Aircraft Pilot III
All of the above and:
May serve as a lead worker by serving as a resource for complex questions; presenting workflow and operational updates to the supervisor/manager; providing input on team members’ career conversations; and approving leave requests to ensure operations coverage.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
Experience:
Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent.
Aircraft Pilot I
5 years of experience in piloting single or multi-engine aircraft including 3,000 hours total flight time as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft.
Must have at least 3,000 hours total time as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft, including 500 hours in fixed-wing, multi-engine, turbine aircraft and 500 hours in fixed-wing, multi-engine, turbine aircraft as pilot-in-command.
Aircraft Pilot II
6 years of experience in piloting single or multi-engine aircraft including 3,500 hours total flight time as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft.
Must have at least 3,500 hours total time as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft, including 1,000 hours in fixed-wing, multi-engine, turbine aircraft and 500 hours in fixed-wing, multi-engine, turbine aircraft as pilot-in-command.
Aircraft Pilot III
6 years of experience in piloting single or multi-engine aircraft including 4,000 hours total flight time as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft.
Must have at least 4,000 hours total time as a pilot in fixed-wing aircraft, including 1,500 hours in fixed-wing, multi-engine, turbine aircraft and 800 hours in fixed-wing, multi-engine, turbine aircraft as pilot-in-command.
Substitutions: Relevant work experience may be substituted for degree on a year per year basis; OR, related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver’s license. This position requires driving a state vehicle.

Must be type rated in a turbine aircraft
FCC Radio Operators License
First Class Medical Certificate
Must be type rated in a turbine aircraft.
*All flight licenses and certificates must be issued by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Additionally, must possess a First-Class Airman Medical Certificate issued under Part 67 of the FAA regulations.
