Position Summary
We are looking for a highly organised and safety-focused Flight Dispatcher to join our team.
In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating flight operations, trip planning and ground handling arrangements for our managed fleet. You will work closely with flight crews, clients, maintenance teams, ground handlers, aviation authorities and other operational stakeholders to ensure every flight is planned and executed safely, efficiently and seamlessly.
The ideal candidate will have strong aviation knowledge, excellent attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and make sound operational decisions in a fast-paced environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate flight requests with clients and manage end-to-end trip planning and operational arrangements.
- Ensure the safe, punctual and efficient operation of all assigned flights, including the coordination of professional ground handling services for aircraft, passengers, crew and baggage.
- Coordinate worldwide trip planning and ground handling arrangements for the managed fleet.
- Prepare computerised flight plans using flight planning systems such as Avianas.
- Plan and monitor aircraft operating schedules in close coordination with the Maintenance team, ensuring compliance with applicable flight and duty time limitations.
- Proactively monitor flights in progress and keep flight crews and relevant stakeholders informed of any circumstances that may affect flight operations.
- Conduct comprehensive operational and safety assessments, including:
- Weather conditions at departure, destination, en-route and alternate airports
- NOTAMs and operational advisories
- Runway and aircraft performance
- Airport restrictions and operational requirements
- Aircraft weight and balance
- Fuel requirements
- Mechanical and performance considerations
- Organise crew rotations and ensure crew duty and rest requirements are maintained in accordance with the Flight Operations Manual.
- Support and actively participate in the company's Safety Management System (SMS).
- Ensure appropriate security measures are in place for aircraft, passengers and baggage.
- Respond promptly to security-related irregularities and incidents in coordination with relevant departments and authorities.
- Liaise with aviation authorities, handling agents and other service providers to obtain overflight and landing permissions.
- Coordinate ground handling, refuelling and other flight support services.
- Arrange airline and hotel accommodations for crew members as required.
- Provide clear and timely crew briefings, both verbally and in writing.
- Ensure all pre-flight and post-flight documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures.
- Make sound operational decisions in the best interests of the company, with safety as the highest priority.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director, Ground Operations.
