Over 52 million passengers traveled through Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in 2024, one of the busiest airports in the country and in the nation's 5th largest city. Sky Harbor is the largest of three airports in the Phoenix Airport System (Phoenix Sky Harbor, Deer Valley, and Goodyear airports) which is operated by the [Company] Aviation Department and has an economic impact over $44 billion annually.
The Aviation Department is seeking a motivated and dedicated Supervisor I (Landside Maintenance) to join our fast-growing team. This position provides first-line supervision in airport maintenance, operations, public safety, and security, or an assigned technical area for Sky Harbor International Airport, Deer Valley, or Goodyear Airports. This position involves several different functions, including emergency and critical telephone/radio communications, airfield and landside maintenance, airside operations, parking and ground transportation operations, landscape maintenance, custodial, and supplies.
Typical duties include directing the work of staff; shift scheduling; evaluating performance; issuing Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs); emergency communication equipment training; ordering and maintaining new equipment and supplies; preparing reports; handling questions and complaints from our tenants and the public; and conducting training. These positions may also work irregular shifts and hours due to operational needs. Please note: Landside Maintenance operates 24/7, 365 per day per year, shift hours may vary including nights, holidays, and weekends that includes 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts respectfully.
Facilities and Services Division - These supervisors may also oversee crews performing heavy cleaning activities outdoors. The Facilities and Services Supervisor I (Airfield *Special Maintenance) may coordinate with management from Goodyear and Deer Valley Airports and perform the below-listed tasks when requested. Some positions supervise landscape maintenance crews. The Aviation Supervisor I in the Facilities and Services division supervise crews performing the following:
Terminal fronts cleaning and pressure washing.
Trash and Recycle Landside and Airside removal.
Security fence installation and repair.
Sign and general repairs after service hours.
Gate scrubbing, Taxiway, Runway, and Taxiway infield maintenance.
Knowledge of airport regulations and policies.
Familiar with FAA regulations, departmental rules, and procedures.
Ability to train employees in the enforcement of State statutes and City ordinances.
Pay Range: $24.93 to $42.64 per hour.
Hiring Range: $24.93 to $30.31 per hour.

Three years of progressively responsible experience in airport maintenance, operations, or technically specific areas.
Other combinations of experience and education which meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
Working conditions:
May work irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings.
May work outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust.
