Global FAA Head of Training - Business Aviation

[Company] offers pilots one of the most advanced and respected training programs in the industry, covering a wide spectrum of business and helicopter aircrafts. We currently seek a Global FAA Head of Training (GHoT), in our Business Aviation group responsible for the overall compliance and quality of all client training activities conducted in FAA ST7X centers.
Candidate should possess an FAA ATP certificate; a high degree of proficiency in current aviation regulations, operations manuals, and all FAA guidance documents particularly FAA orders 8900.1 and 8000.95; and have had previous instructor and management experience.
This position is also an FAA CFR 142 certificate post-holder on the FAA Training Specifications issued to [Company] Inc. by the US Department of Transportation.
The GHoT will direct projects as needed to ensure ongoing alignment of courseware, devices, and curriculums within all training programs on the [Company] part 142 training specifications.
The GHoT primary duty is to ensure the global network of training managers have the operational clarity needed to achieve compliant conduct of high-quality training in their respective programs.
This role is responsible for supervising the delivery of all client training and checking activities conducted across [Company]’s global FAA Training Center locations.
The FAA CFR Part 142 post-holder role will direct projects as needed to ensure ongoing alignment of courseware, devices and curriculums within all training programs in [Company]’s training specifications.
This role is also responsible for other National Aviation Authority (NAA) approvals and management of those approvals delegated to a global Team.
The reporting cascading Team oversees & coordinates with relevant departments responsible to for all aspects of an FAA training program (facilities, records, Instructors/Examiners, courseware, curriculum, training devices), strategic planning, development, innovation, prioritization across all BAT/HAT training programs.
The working Team is responsible for the life cycle of training programs to ensure compliance, innovation, perpetual improvement and prioritization based on business unit and corporate OKR’s.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for global FAA and other-CAA training and checking delivery and compliance with applicable regulations and as guided by Company policies and procedures.
The role operates with a high-degree of autonomy supporting business development, Customer sales initiatives, operations and product to drive [Company]’s high-tech company culture.
Perpetual assessment of business interests to optimize, enhance the experience and support our customers with accurate, compliant, innovative courseware and curriculum which meet business strategic objectives and key results.
Support Operations Team and collective OKR’s driving a complimentary strategy, supporting as needed by advising local Training Center Leadership, Training Managers and Program Lead Instructors to keep all aspects of training delivery aligned globally.
Support various projects which support implementation/adoption, evolution and objectives of the business.
Skills and Experience
Experience as a People Manager, leading a global and diverse Team managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Experience in working with Aviation Training and Development teams and delivering training products to global audiences and/or formal adult learning development experience.
Maintain corporate governance and regional communication to the satisfaction of [Company] internal stakeholders.
Strong understanding of business management, financial, and leadership principles. Strong knowledge of financials, KPIs, reporting project status to senior management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.
Demonstrable experience communicating with various levels, both within and outside the company, including senior management, technical staff, and end users.
High-level attention to detail and accuracy, excellent organizational skills. Strong analytical, facilitation and problem-solving skills, identify problems and trends, and develop effective solutions and strategies.
Effective communicator and highly proficient with MS Office suite and modern business-enabling tools.
Support strategic initiatives being Customer-facing representing the Company in a positive regard.
The GHOT will work concertedly with other [Company] Global Heads of Training (EASA, UK CAA, TCCA, etc) counterparts and work collaboratively to continually enhance processes and procedures with global reach.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements
Preferred candidate will possess an FAA ATP certificate.
Leadership experience in training center environment preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of Instructor experience in a training center environment.
High degree of proficiency in current aviation regulations, operations manuals, and all FAA guidance documents particularly FAA orders 8900.1 and 8000.95.
Bachelor’s degree, professional certification and/or a combination of educational and equivalent.
Proficient in the Microsoft business suite. MS Project experience desirable.
