Fly support missions for the CalFire aviation maintenance program and support the CalFire contract throughout the state of California. We currently operate company owned Cessna 172 and T206, with potential for upgrade to the Pilatus PC-12NGX.
Principle Duties:
*Pilot and safely navigate assigned aircraft
*Transport parts, technicians, pilots, administrative and CalFire personnel as required
*Ensure assigned aircraft is in an airworthiness state for immediate dispatch during the daily duty period.
*Ensure safe loading of passengers, cargo, and fuel to maintain proper weight and balance at all times.
*Exercise sound judgement, safe practices, and flexibility in a wide variety of flight environments.
*Perform other qualified duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills:
*FAA commercial airplane single engine land with instrument rating
*Current FAA class II medical certificate (with EKG if over 40).
Experience and Education:
Required minimums:
*1000 hours airplane
*800 hours PIC airplane
*500 hours single engine airplane
*200 hours mountain (typical terrain)
*100 hours night
*75 hours instrument (total)
*50 hours instrument (actual)
Physical Requirements/ Work Environment:
*This is a year-round full time position, 40 hours/ week, based at McClellan Park, CA.
* Flexibility is required due to the unpredictable nature of the mission. Expect overtime, especially during an active fire season. Occasional overnights, usually within the state.
*During the duty day pilots must be present and ready for immediate dispatch.
