The Inflight Standards and Development Specialist is responsible for driving Inflight safety standards in accordance with federal regulations, Company policy, and other governing agencies. This role ensures the accuracy and clarity of inflight publications and supports the development and revision of policies and procedures that impact the Inflight department. Under the leadership of the Manager, Inflight Services Policies and Procedures, the Specialist also serves as a key liaison to the Safety and Inflight Training Department and plays a central role in identifying safety trends and communicating to Inflight Training for curriculum and procedural enhancements.
Research internal department policies, procedures, systems, and aircraft equipment information to ensure regulatory compliance and accuracy for Inflight manuals.
Interface with Inflight Training, and Operations departments to ensure consistency and compliance with policies and procedures and ensure content change is disseminated into training content.
Perform updates to curriculum when directed by the Inflight Leadership
Interface with Flight Operations, Technical Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Stations, and Guest Empowerment departments to align inflight documentation with Companywide practices.
Work with manual owners and company publications to manage revisions in support of business processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational projects.
Write and revise policies and procedures for Inflight manuals, including Bulletins and Temporary Revisions (TRs), under the direction of the Manager, Inflight Service Policies and Procedures.
Update and maintain reference material and document libraries in One Drive, as assigned
Assist the Manager in all publication-related interfacing, including coordination with Corporate Communications and external regulatory bodies.
Support the tracking and management of Inflight manuals and procedural changes, ensuring timely updates and audit readiness.
Review regulatory updates (i.e., IATA, DCT, FARs) for currency and prepare summaries of changes and impacts, under guidance.
Maintain compliance tags within XML-based publications and ensure the accurate handling of Security Sensitive Information (SSI).
Serve as the Inflight department’s designated Safety Representative, coordinating regularly with the Safety Department to review reports, identify hazards, and ensure timely follow-up on safety issues impacting cabin operations.
Track and analyze trending safety concerns submitted through the Safety Management System (SMS), and other internal reporting tools. Auditing processes and procedures regularly.
Draft trend reports and collaborate with the Manager, Inflight Training to recommend curriculum updates or procedural adjustments based on emerging safety data.
Develop safety-focused content for inclusion in inflight communications, training materials, and crew resource updates.
Collaborate with Inflight Leadership on high-level content for Inflight Newsletter based on reporting safety trends, policy updates, and Company feedback
Attend Company meetings, relevant to Inflight standards, safety, and regulatory compliance
Perform other duties, as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of Inflight airline experience
Experience in technical writing and/or proofreading
Must attend and successfully complete Breeze Inflight training and maintain flight attendant currency.
Ability to assist in the operation and travel, as necessary
Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug test
Must pass a TSA required fingerprint-based criminal history records check and a Breeze background check
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years policies and procedures experience
Bachelors or Associates degree preferred; combination of relevant experience and education considered equivalent
5 years experience as a Flight Attendant
Skills/Talents

Skilled with writing and editing policies and procedures for publication
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional
Ability to learn Vistair, Orlando, and other web-based programs.
