TITLE: Director of Maintenance Control
REPORTS TO: SVP Technical Operations
The Director of Maintenance Control (DMC) leads GlobalX's Maintenance Control function, providing 24/7/365 oversight of aircraft airworthiness release, technical dispatch reliability, and real-time maintenance decision-making across the operation. The DMC serves as the central point of coordination between Maintenance, Flight Operations, Dispatch, Line Maintenance stations, and third-party MRO providers, ensuring every aircraft released to service meets the airworthiness standards of 14 CFR Parts 91, 117, and 121, GlobalX's OpSpecs, and — where applicable — ETOPS requirements. This role owns after-hours and off-shift planning, technical troubleshooting escalation, interdepartmental communication protocols, and the development of a bench-ready Maintenance Control team.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required; IA and/or Dispatcher certificate preferred.
7–10 years of Part 121 aviation maintenance experience.
3–5 years in Maintenance Control/MOCC leadership.
Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 91, 117, 121 and ETOPS.
Demonstrated leadership and team development experience.
Airbus A320/A321 maintenance experience.
FAA CMO/PMI interaction experience.
Experience with CASS, SMS, and reliability programs.
After-Hours & Off-Shift Planning
Design and maintain 24/7/365 Maintenance Control coverage, including a documented on-call and escalation matrix for nights, weekends, and holidays.
Ensure sufficient staffing depth so that no single point of failure exists in after-hours technical decision-making, AOG response, or maintenance release authority.
