The Flight Operations, Pilot Hiring Director will be responsible for evaluating pilots to determine employability at EJM. This role and will be a part of the Cincinnati-based onsite team and will serve as the internal expert and key decision maker on pilot hiring including evaluation of interpersonal skills and technical expertise. This role oversees the full crew hiring process addressing all operational and organizational challenges that arise. This role will implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality of hires, time to fill, and candidate experience keeping safety as the highest priority.
• Review resumes following initial screens completed by the Talent Acquisition (TA) team.
• Apply pilot expertise to in-person and virtual interviews with pilot candidates. Will participate in multiple interviews per day and per week.
• Regularly assess PRD information to aid in evaluation of past pilot performance and determine if pilot qualifications are suitable for employment at EJM.
• Partner closely with the TA team and Regional Chief Pilots (RCP) through the candidate hire process.
• Provide the model of professional communications in every form and to build supportive and motivating relationships throughout the organization.
• Ability to balance EJM hiring standards with requirements specific to account level for ideal candidate selection.
• Additional responsibilities include IOE implementation and tracking, supporting pilot onboarding process, and training development and facilitation for Lead pilots.
Bachelor's in Aviation Management
8-10 years of experience
• Senior aviation professional and skilled fixed-wing pilot (past or current) with background in the day-to-day operational demands of a responsive, Part 91/135 organization. Occasional Part 135 flying is optional for this role.
• Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities
• Proactive decision making
• May be required to obtain a FAA Type rating in the applicable Fleet type
• Must be able to uphold a service standard in a strict & changing regulatory environment
• Previous experience with resume review and interviewing, preferred
• Experience facilitating and/or developing training content
• Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills and effective interpersonal aptitude
• Demonstrated proficiency using computers including Microsoft’s suite of applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
