Job Summary: The Pilot has authority over flight operations, ensuring safety, proper planning, and compliance with all regulations, including fuel management, maintenance checks, and documentation. In addition to flight-related duties, the Pilot is responsible for maintaining the aircraft, managing supplies, and ensuring a smooth, efficient experience for passengers and crew.
Location: Eastern Iowa - Cedar Rapids Area
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Flight Operations Oversight – Ensure final authority over all flight decisions, including the safety of passengers and the ability to delay or cancel flights when necessary
Flight Planning & Preparation – Lead flight planning efforts, reviewing maintenance records, weather conditions, and runway requirements to ensure smooth operations
Fuel Management – Oversee fuel planning, including calculating necessary reserves, accounting for delays, and ensuring fuel efficiency for each flight
Fueling Coordination & Oversight – Select fueling services based on contracts, manage fueling procedures, and ensure proper fuel delivery and safety standards
Documentation & System Updates – Maintain and update all flight manuals, charts, and system databases to ensure current and accurate operational information
Expense Tracking – Keeping track of and entering required expenses for approval
Maintenance & Troubleshooting – Report and verify any aircraft maintenance issues, assist with diagnosing problems, sourcing parts, and conducting test flights as needed
Supplies & Inventory Management – Order and maintain necessary supplies for the aircraft and office, ensuring that food, drinks, and maintenance materials are stocked
Passenger & Crew Assistance – Assist passengers with luggage, rental car reservations and other needed services
Operational Support & Cleaning – Perform tasks such as cleaning office areas and disposing of trash, including recycling
Accountability & Reliability – Maintain regular and reliable attendance while performing other duties as assigned to support team and business needs
Requirements:
Valid ATP Certificate with multiengine rating
Valid FAA second class medical certificate
Valid FCC radio operator certificate
Possess or have the ability to obtain a type rating in the aircraft operated by the company
Preferred Qualifications:
3000 or more total flight hours
1000 or more multi engine turbine hours
Experience with corporate jets and operations
Excellent customer service skills
What to expect:
Lifting and loading light to heavy luggage /cargo.
Traveling up to 75% of the time with 4 to 10 nights a month away from home, the other 25% working in the office assisting with maintenance or other office duties as directed or required.
During a trip must be reachable at all times unless flying.
Working inside and outside in all kinds of weather conditions.
Arrive 1.5 Hour prior to departure for domestic flights and 2 hours for international flights and remain onsite until the aircraft is secured at the end of a trip if away from home and secured and cleaned in the hangar if returning to the hangar.
Additionally, the pilot will report to the Chief pilot and is responsible to the Captain / Chief Pilot for the conduct and execution of assigned duties of the flight.
Assists the Captain / Chief Pilot with safety of flight responsibilities and being prepared to assume the duties of the pilot in command if or when needed and or required.
Work locations of each position will be determined during the hiring process. Each work location will depend on business needs and the essential functions of the position.
