Job Summary/Objective
As a Legacy crew member, the Global Captain is responsible for the safe, compliant, and professional operation of Planet 9’s floating fleet of Global aircraft across a diverse range of international and ultra-long-range missions. Operating under both Part 91 and Part 135, the Captain plays a key leadership role in the cockpit, ensuring flight safety, client satisfaction, and regulatory compliance. As a Legacy crew member, this full-time position requires flexibility, operational awareness, and the ability to adapt in a fast-paced charter environment while maintaining the highest standards of service and airmanship. The standard Legacy Pilot schedule will be 16 days on (position days included on first and last day), followed by 14 days off.

Home-Based (must reside within a 2-hour drive of an airport with commercial service)
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) of assigned Global aircraft
Collaborate on all phases of flight planning and execution with precision, including aircraft performance, weather analysis, and international considerations upholding operational excellence.
Set the tone for a collaborative and cockpit and cabin environment, promoting CRM and teamwork across the crew
Represent Planet 9 with professionalism and discretion in all client and vendor interactions, acting as a trusted ambassador of the company’s values
Maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, regulatory updates, and international operating procedures to support safe and informed decision-making
Participate actively in crew briefings and post-flight debriefs, fostering a safety-first culture and continuous improvement
Demonstrate integrity in adherence to SOPs, safety protocols, and compliance obligations
Coordinate closely with Operations and Inflight teams to ensure seamless mission execution and elevated client experience
Uphold the highest levels of safety and risk management throughout all operational phases
Adhere to Planet 9’s operational policies, safety procedures, and regulatory standards by completing required training and maintaining compliance across all assigned duties
Adapt to evolving priorities by performing additional tasks or projects as needed to support team and organizational goals
Skills and Qualifications
FAA ATP Certificate
FAA First Class Medical Certificate
BD700 Type Rating – Required
Valid passport and ability to travel unrestricted internationally
Must pass DOT/FAA drug screening, TSA background check, and meet Wyvern Wingman standards
Completed COVID-19 vaccination required prior to training

Education and Experience Requirements
College degree preferred
3 Years Part 135 experience preferred
International experience (outside of Mexico and Canada) highly preferred
Completion and maintenance of all Planet 9 training requirements in accordance with FAA Part 135 regulations
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to maintain a valid First Class FAA Medical Certificate
Travel Requirements
Extensive international travel required
