[Company] is seeking an experienced aviation professional, and leader to lead the [Company] aviation organization. Our aviation organization has a long history of providing safe, flexible, reliable, and customer centric travel solutions for our teammates around the country, and occasionally internationally. We are looking for a seasoned and well-rounded aviation leader to help us continue this track record of outstanding service but to also improve and build on the foundation that already exists in the spirit of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with managing a corporate aviation team, as well as in-depth knowledge of current aviation trends and an in-depth understanding of both domestic and international aviation regulations. You will be a balanced leader, mixing in industry experience with a background in leading a large and diverse team of pilots, maintenance staff, schedulers, and contractors. Deep experience required in regard to strategic aviation asset management, including, but not limited to, purchasing, leasing, and charter operations. You will always put the safety of the crew and your passengers first, lead by example, and foster an environment that is conducive to a collaborative culture.
The Director, Aviation Operations will develop and institute department policies and procedures. They will prepare annual operating budgets that include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, personnel, training, and capital expenses. The Director, Aviation Operations will report deviations between estimated expenditures and actual costs with other teammates and leadership to ensure budget transparency is always maintained. The Director, Aviation Operations will advise on the status and requirements for aircraft and other equipment consistent with the company needs. The Director, Aviation Operations establishes and maintains strong, collaborative partnerships with relevant company teammates. This leader will also manage the recruitment and retention of talent in partnership with their HR Business Partners.
The Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
Maintain full responsibility for the [Company] aviation program, not limited to overall strategy and execution.
Lead an experienced management team who oversee approximately 25 aviation colleagues across teams of pilots, maintenance engineers, and schedulers.
Continuously comply and improve upon the [Company] aviation safety program, including using third party auditors to ensure we operate within complete compliance across all aviation best safety practices and policies.
Ensure operational excellence and world class service to our clients with [Company].
Demonstrate strong general leadership skills and contribute to the overall advancement of the broader enterprise outside of the aviation department.
Contribute subject matter expertise to enterprise safety management efforts and initiatives.
Hybrid position: Office 2 plus days a week. Must reside or be willing to relocate to the Louisville KY metro or Southern Indiana area. Relocation will be provided.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and/ or 10 years or more experience in aviation, engineering, or a technical field
Extensive background in flight operations.
Experience in complying with regulations and policies of the FAA and all aviation entities globally.
Previous management experience in a flight department and working with senior executives.
Experience acquiring/purchasing short and long-haul aircraft.
Excellent people and organizational skills.
Absence of history of violations of FAA regulations.
Must be able to travel 25% of time.
General computer skills required including comfort various MS Office tools.
Broad knowledge of aviation tax regulations
Experience managing aviation operating and capital budgets
Scheduled Weekly Hours = 40
Preferred Qualification
Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) designation
Previous Director of Operations, Aviation, Safety or equivalent aviation leadership experience
Master’s degree strongly preferred in aviation, engineering, business, or a technical field
