The Pilot is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of CN aircraft, ensuring adherence to all regulatory, safety, and operational standards. The incumbent conducts pre-flight planning, manages in-flight operations, completes post-flight documentation, and ensures passenger and crew safety throughout all flight phases.
Main Responsibilities
Conduct pre-flight inspections, review weather, flight plans, and aircraft status.
Operate aircraft safely in all phases of flight in accordance with CN and aviation regulations.
Monitor aircraft systems, performance, and fuel management throughout flight.
Communicate with air traffic control and ground operations to ensure smooth coordination.
Complete post-flight reports, aircraft logs, and notify maintenance of any issues.
Ensure compliance with Transport Canada and company safety standards.
Participate in recurrent training and maintain required certifications.
Working Conditions
The role requires irregular hours, including weekends and holidays. Pilots may be called upon to respond to short-notice flight requests and must be able to adapt to rapidly changing operational demands. Pilots must manage stress, changing weather, and varying operational conditions. Travel and overnight stays are required.
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 3-5 years of professional flying experience.
Experience operating multi-engine aircraft in commercial or corporate aviation.
Experience flying under IFR conditions.
Education/Certification/Designation
Valid Transport Canada Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL).
Valid Category 1 Medical Certificate.
Type rating on company aircraft*
