The [Company] Aviation Senior Captain reports to the Chief Pilot and the Senior Director of Aviation. The role ensures the safe and efficient conduct of assigned flights as per the FARs and ISBAO Standards and will actively participate in the Safety Management System.
This position will serve [Company]’s Enterprise Division and be located at Peachtree Dekalb Airport Atlanta, Georgia.
Ensures that the aircraft is airworthy and any discrepancies are properly accounted for
All required documentation is onboard the aircraft;
Checks weather and all applicable NOTAMs where available, and determines fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements;
Determines the aircraft weight and balance;
Ensures databases are current;
Ensures iPads are updated and adequately charged for the assigned flight;
Ensures that all flight planning requirements have been met;
Ensures that aircraft crewmembers have valid Pilot Certificates, Medical Certificates, passports and visas, as required;
Ensures that the flight will not be commenced if a crewmember is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive substance;
Ensures that the flight will not be continued beyond the nearest suitable airport when a crewmember’s capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or lack of oxygen;
Completes an aircraft preflight inspection before each departure;
Ensures the Passenger Safety Briefing is provided to the passengers
Operates the aircraft per the [Company] Aviation Flight Department SOP and checklists, and within aircraft limitations;
Continually monitors the amount of usable fuel to ensure a safe landing with appropriate fuel reserves and communicates with ATC during abnormal situations;
Ensures compliance with customs, immigration, and cabotage laws;
Completes all postflight duties, including notifying the Company of deviations to any planned itinerary, schedule, or overnight location;
Records flight times and aircraft defects;
Reports all known or suspected FAA violations or incidents to the Senior Director of Aviation/Chief Pilot as soon as practical;
Reports any act of unlawful interference to the FAA or State (Mandatory Occurrence Report), as appropriate, and to the designated local authority;
As soon as possible, reports any hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered that are likely to affect the safety of other aircraft to the appropriate ATC facility;
In the event of an accident/incident, preserves flight and cockpit voice recorder data;
Participates in revisions for [Company] Manufacturing Flight Operations Manual
Notifies the appropriate authority, by the quickest available means, of any accident involving the aircraft (except where the PIC is incapacitated, when it will become the responsibility of the Senior Director of Aviation/Chief Pilot or senior flight crewmember);
Assumes any duties delegated by the Senior Director of Aviation/Chief Pilot.
Participate in weekly ops meeting
Assist chief pilot to manage Airplane checklists liase with Pilot body and Checklist vendor ensuring compliance with all aspects of our [Company] Aviation FOM.
Maintain compliance of our [Company] Aviation Training program by attending events and courses ensuring we are constantly informed of opportunities to improve and enhance our personnel skill set.
Assist SMS manager when needed for incident investigations, you may be asked for assistance in developing a Corrective Action Plan.
Mentor Line Pilots.
Evaluate Line Pilots skill attitude and abilities to carry out their jobs.
Fly the line as a scheduled crew member.
Holds an Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate.
Is type rated in the Falcon 8X or Falcon 2000 LXS.
Is able to act as Pilot-in-Command on either type.
Possesses a First Class FAA Medical Certificate.
May be a NBAA Certified Aviation Manager
May have a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or related field.
Must have 7-10 years and 4000-5000 hours flying experience as a Line pilot
Able to work with cross-functional teams (e.g., product managers, engineers, business teams) and external subject matter experts
Experience working within a Part 135 or Part 91 Aviation department.
Must have strong interpersonal, analytical, and administrative skills
Must demonstrate the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Great presentation and communication skills
Proficient computer skills and in-depth knowledge of relevant software such as MS Office Suite.
