This position will be domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
Lead a team of company pilots responsible for providing safe and effective air transportation for corporate executives, management personnel, and other personnel for FedEx Freight.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Select, develop and lead a professional staff of pilots in the company aviation department, between both bases.
2. Ensure all flight operations strictly adhere to FAR Part 91 regulations as well as the Aircraft Flight Manual, the FedEx Freight Flight Operations Manual (FOM), and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) contained within the FOM
3. Serve as Pilot-in-Command (PIC) on assigned flights
4. Coordinate daily with aircraft scheduler and maintenance to ensure crew capability and aircraft availability
5. Approve and maintain the FOM, SOPs, checklists and standardization materials
6. Approve pilot expense reports
7. Ensure pilot license, medical and training records are maintained
8. Collaborate with MD-Corporate Aviation to lead pilot recruitment, interviewing, and selection
9. Lead pilot on-boarding and PIC upgrade objectives
10. Assist in the development and maintenance of the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) program
11. Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
12. Perform other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation or equivalent corporate aviation experience
• Airline transport pilot certificate with multi-engine & instrument rating (without limitations)
• CL30 type rating
• FAA first class medical certificate (obtained within the preceding 12 months)
• Valid U.S. passport with no travel restrictions
• FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
• Flight time:
• Note: PIC is defined in accordance with FAR 1.1 and not as sole manipulator of the controls. Recency & type of experience is considered. Corporate/business aviation experience required
• 3000 hours total fixed-wing, 1500 hours multi-engine aircraft
• 1000 hours PIC turbine/turboprop
• Clean FAA record (no certificate actions, accidents, or incidents).
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and any company-required security clearance.
• Flexible schedule availability and willingness to work irregular hours, weekends, holidays, and overnight trips.
• Professional appearance, strong interpersonal skills, and discretion
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
