What You Will Be Doing:
The Aviation Scheduler ensures that all [Company] flights operate safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within the rules of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 91.
Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinating the scheduling of flights and crew members in accordance with the demands of the business.
Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and standards.
Communicating with [Company] corporate resources, pilots, crew members, and airport staff to ensure smooth operations.
Monitoring weather conditions and advising pilots of any potential hazards.
Processing flight plans and itineraries.
Confirming availability and readiness of aircraft for scheduled flights.
Maintaining and updating flight operation records and databases.
Assisting in emergency response and contingency planning.
Coordinating with maintenance personnel and pilots to ensure aircraft are well-maintained and ready for flights.
Providing excellent customer service to passengers and resolving any complaints or issues.
Performing administrative tasks such as filing reports, managing correspondence, and updating operational procedures in accordance with FAA Part 91 regulations.
Desired Skills:
Strong communication skills (written and oral) and effective interpersonal aptitude
Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office products and scheduling software
Strong organization skills and attention to detail
Ability to prepare and complete reports pertaining to department and position
Ability to make reasonable and timely decisions under difficult and/or urgent circumstances that address root causes of problems. Gathers and analyzes relevant information from several sources and necessary persons. Builds consensus around recommendations, especially when conflict exists. Assists others in problem solving and decision making. Follows up on results and provides feedback for analysis.
Ability to plan and align to adequately accomplish goals
Ability to collaborate across groups or areas as expected
Ability to demonstrate openness to change and seeks guidance on how to adapt
Education/Experience:
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field is advantageous
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
Previous experience as an Aviation Scheduler or Flight Operations Coordinator for a commercial airline or for a private flight operations center.
