The Support Operations Manager has responsibility for Sourcing, Warehouse & Logistics, Facilities and EHS at [Company] Flight Test Operation. In this role you will lead a team to oversee and manage all aspects of support operations at multiple locations. This position will have management and leadership responsibility for exempt employees and non-exempt employees, contingent workers and purchased services. The manager will work with other staff and teams at Flight Test Operation to drive continuous improvement, ensure reliability and consistency of daily operations.
In this role you will be responsible for major and complex assignments with long-term business implications, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise, and contribute to the overall business strategy. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required. Impacts and manage the team’s ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives. Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the team and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination.
Roles and Responsibilities
Manages a small to medium team of direct reports and dotted line reports. Develop and implement strategy for the area of responsibilities, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
Accountable for partnering with site leadership to establish training programs to continually improving employees’ technical capabilities and knowledge of governing procedures, regulations, and requirements.
Monitoring, preventive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and utility equipment/ systems. Ensures minimum response times to equipment breakdowns and achievement of equipment availability targets.
Building and property maintenance, including all aspects of on-site facility maintenance.
Planning for capital investments and expense management regarding installations/repairs of production and facility equipment. Lead projects through schematic, design engineering, financials, bidding, construction, and project closeout. Manage project financials and schedule.
Manage the buying process for Flight Test Operation. Apply sourcing policy, interface between supplier and entity with respect to specifications and budgets. Place and follow-up on purchase orders. Manage relationships with suppliers for execution.
Accountable for receiving, warehousing, and releasing materials into production. Manage & drive systemic improvements in material control processes and systems.
Engages in the site’s Environmental, Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with all tasks and projects performed. This includes compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Supports physical security and crisis management program for protection of assets and employees. Serves as primary or alternate site security leader.
Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Embraces and integrates Lean principles to drive productivity, on-time delivery, process capability, and stable operations in our increasingly complex and demanding environment.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems that impact the quality function and site operations. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and can construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a highly regulated environment.

Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.
Ability and willingness to work flexible and off-shift hours (including 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, nights, weekends, and holidays) when business needs dictate.
Ability and willingness to travel to and support operations at offsite locations when business needs dictate.

EHS experience with a focus in manufacturing, laboratory, or test environment
Demonstrated operations management experience.
Prior experience as a manager, leading teams in the aerospace/aviation industry.
The base pay range for this position is $156,300 - $260,700. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a per
