Position Summary
Acts as Pilot in Command of Duke Energy Aircraft, super midsized (40,600 lbs MTOW) jet aircraft, including compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and other regulations (ICAO). Is directly responsible for and is the final authority for the operation of the aircraft. Manages passenger relationships and ensures safe operation of Duke Energy assigned aircraft. Actively participates in the department Safety Management System.
Supervises the operation of assigned aircraft and flight crew, including all pre-flight, in- flight and post flight activity
Determines appropriate courses of action to ensure safety of flight, passengers and company property
Prepares flight plans, fuel load, weight and balance calculations in preparation for flight
Ensures all passengers needs have been met for the duration of the flight
Maintains required pilot and medical certificates and completes annual flight proficiency checks necessary to act as Pilot in Command
Assists in the Aviation Safety Management System by submitting observed Hazards/Incidents and performing Risk Assessments and Root Cause Analysis
Other office duties as assigned

Pprolonged sitting (5 hours or more)
Ability to lift 50 lbs when loading baggage
On call when not on vacation
Duty days of 14 hours are common
Will be required to be overnight away from home 50 + nights per year
Valid US Passport
Required/Basic Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent
Five (5) or more years of flight experience in Aviation
3,000 Hours Total Flight Time
Airline Transport Pilot in the Category of assigned aircraft,
Current FAA First Class Medical Certificate,
Detailed knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
Valid US Passport
Desired Qualifications
Bachelors Degree, Aviation degree is preferred
10 or more years of flight exeperinece in Aviation
4,000 Hours Total Flight Time
1,500 Hours Turbine Time
1,000 Hours PIC
CL-30 Type Rating
Strong Customer Service Skills
Good presentation Skills
Project Management Skills
bility to work with Microsoft Office products
Effective ability to communicate to Senior Management on a daily basis
